The Miracle

Hey Everybody!!
Whats up family! Hey i hope you all get this email, the internet that im on right now isnt working really good, but i have some fantastic news! THE PACKAGE YOU SENT ME IS ON ITS WAY TO CATEMACO!!!! My Zone Leaders told me that they have two packages for me, a big one and a small one, that they will be bringing to my house tomorrow! i figured mom would be happy to hear that :) so im glad to hear that things are going good up there at the house, when Drew comes down to visit, tell him to email me, because i lost his email haha! Well remember about the investigator i told you about named Pedro? well we had an amazing experience happen with him and his family this week that i want to share with you all. The day before his baptism, my companion and i went to go visit Pedro on Friday, to answer any last questions of his that he had before his baptism. When we were there, his wife looked pretty sick, like she had a cold or something. About 10 minutes into our lesson with Pedro and her, she left and walked into her house to get something. About 5 minutes later, Pedro's son came yelling for Pedro to come inside, because his mom was crying. Pedro went inside for about 10 seconds, and came back out saying that his wife had passed out and that he needed our help. We walked inside and Pedro's wife was on the floor, eyes closed, breathing really really hard, sweating a ton, and shaking a little, it kind of looked like she was having a seizure (i dont know how to spell that). she wasnt responding to anything we were saying to her, and Pedro was freaking out. So me and my companion did the only thing that we knew how to do . . . as fast as we could, we explained what a priesthood blessing was to Pedro, we put a little oil on her head, and we gave her a blessing. I annointed the oil, and then my companion sealed it, and gave her the blessing. In the blessing, my companion said these words ¨we bless you that after this blessing you will stop shaking, open your eyes, and stand, to receive a testimony of the power of the priesthood.¨ When my companion finished the blessing i watched Pedro's wife's breathing slow down, about 5 seconds later she opened her eyes, and then with a little help from us, she stood up!!!!! In the moment, i was so focused on her being alright that i didnt realize that i had seen a miracle. But after we finished our lesson and left, it dawned on me and my companion the we just witnessed a miracle. That was probably one of the coolest experiences of my mission so far. After Pedro's baptism on saturday, and his confirmation on sunday, His wife told us that she is thinking about joining the church also, so in about 3 weeks, she will probably be getting baptized too :) Well i gotta go, we have another investigator named Nora that will be getting baptized this saturday, i will send photos next week! I love you and miss you all a TON!!!!!!!

Hey Everybody!
I cant believe its monday again already! the time is starting to go by really fast here, its starting to scare me a little haha. Thats awesome that you all ran into Joey! im sorry to hear that his dad passed away . . . he bought a car from young chev and i got to know him a little bit, he was a really good guy. Well im glad to hear that Joey is doing good. This week we almost had a baptism! Our investigator named Pedro accepted baptism for the 19 of May but two days before his baptism date he said he needs more time to think about things before he is baptized . . . it was a pretty big bummer . . . We were pretty sure that he was dropping the church. We fasted and prayed a flippin ton so he would recieve another answer that this church is true, and that he would come to church, and guess what . . . HE SHOWED UP AT CHURCH!!! he told us that he had a dream about the church, and that he knows this church is true, he accepted baptism for this week!!! His baptism is going to be on saturday, and this time its for sure! Before i came out here to mexico, i didnt have a very big testimony of fasting. But in these past 5 months i´ve learned that the Lord answers prayers alot faster when we give up something, or make a sacrifice. Well i gotta run, i will send you the pictures of his baptism next week! ANIMO!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Salto de Eyipantla" - a waterfall in Catemaco

May 15, 2012

Hey Everybody!!        It was AWESOME to talk to you all yesterday!! i went a little over time though . . . but its alright i repented ;) i couldn't believe how fast the time went by! After i hung up the phone i kept thinking of stuff that i wanted to tell all of you but there just wasn't enough time haha! i guess i will have to wait till i get home to tell you about everything that is going on down here.         This week i had the greatest opportunity to eat a fish! but not like we eat fish in utah, we ate almost EVERYTHING of the fish, the body, the tail, the guts, the head, the eyes . . . pretty much everything but the bones! and to be honest, those were the best 3 fish i have ever eaten in my life! The people down here are really different, they are alot different then the people in Poza Rica, The people are alot more humble and really dont have alot of money. We are teaching a man right now named Pedro, he has a wife and two kids, he cuts hair for a living because there isnt any other work for him, and him and his family live off of about 120 to 160 pesos a day. He has alot of faith that through this gospel his life for his family will get better. Its pretty humbling for me, to see how alot of these people live, but its amazing when they accept the message of the gospel in their lives.   So alot of the pictures i sent you are of a waterfall about 20 minutes from my area that we went to about 3 hours ago. Its called Salto de Eyipantla. Its nothing compared to the waterfalls in Yosemite, but its pretty cool because its in a really jungly area. Its the same waterfall from the movie Apocalipto. i heard that its a pretty sweet movie from the people down here, dad should rent it so you all can see my area :)        Alright well i gotta run, i will write you next week!                                                            with love, Elder Snow

HOLA A TODOS!!!
Hey everyone hows it going! Your pictures of new york and san diego look pretty awesome! Grace, Kate and Karly look older now, that means ive been gone a while. This week has been one of the coolest weeks of my life! It was really hard to leave Coatzintla . . . definitely harder then i thought it would be, Honestly i felt like i was leaving my family again! The members of that small ward in Coatzintla i will never forget. Catemaco is definitely one of the coolest places ive seen. Its a pretty big city, but when we arent in the city, i really do feel like im in a jungle haha! there are a ton of hills and trees that are HUGE!! theres alot of water and waterfalls here too, i havent seen any of them yet but ive heard that they are pretty cool. The movie Apocalipto (i dont know how to say it in english) was filmed here really close, like 10 minutes from Catemaco, Rent it and tell me what you think, cause i havent seen it.
The people here are alot more poor and alot more humble then in Coatzintla. Here in Catemaco, we have a Rama ( its like a ward but alot smaller ), the president of the Rama is a convert of 1 year and 2 months, and the average number of people in church each sunday is about 45 to 50 people. Lets just say its alot diferent than Utah haha! My new companions name is Elder Ramirez, hes from Guadalajara!! Hes a really hard working missionary but also hes a BLAST to be around! Im looking forward to these next few months working with him.
Alright well on thursday we have EL DIA DE LA MADRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dont know what day mothers day is in the united states to be honest, but here in mexico its on thursday :) i will call you on skype at 5:00 pm my time (i dont know what time that is in Utah, but i think dad can figure it out:) im way excited to talk to all of you!!! i will see you on thursday!!
